For example, an unscientific survey of an online child pornography site by an Australian government official found a significant chunk of the photos had initially been shared by parents on sites such as Facebook and Instagram. The photos themselves were mostly innocent, everyday scenes of kids playing, but they were accompanied by explicit, inappropriate comments. The Australian official estimated that "about half" of the 45 million images "appeared to be sourced directly from social media."

If you have chosen the stock that you will be using in your composite already, then really study the lighting in the images and be sure to light your subject similarly so that you will be able to match these up in post-processing. If you plan to choose your stock images after the shoot, try to shoot your subject in even soft lighting. Cloudy days, shaded areas, and near sunrise or sunset work well for lighting. This will give you more options when choosing your stock images later.

After the shoot, you will be ready to begin culling the best images for your composites. Try to choose poses that look the most natural. Find the images that look most like your model interacts with your scene and selected stock. Typically, the first few image shots will look a bit forced as your little model is still feeling you out and possibly a bit self-conscience, depending on the age. After a minute or two of shooting, they start understanding what is going on and what they are pretending or acting out. These images capture that natural vibe that you will want for your composite.

To cull my images, I open them in Adobe Bridge and navigate to my external storage device, which is where I save and store my images immediately after each shoot. Next, I will open up the folder containing the photos from the shoot that I am working on once you find the image you would like to use for your edit, double click, and open it into Adobe Camera Raw.

Once you've chosen your stock, it is time to start extracting and placing these. I like to make a new blank document first to put everything on. I typically want to use the quick selection tool to remove the stock images and model images. I will try a good selection with this tool and then place it on my new document. If I need to clean any areas up, I will add a mask and zoom in close with a hard black brush and brush of any extra areas. For example, hair and fur will require a soft brush to blend well. I always like to tell my students that if they have another tool they want to use, such as the pen tool, refine edge, etc., then feel free to use those. There are a million and one ways to get the same outcome in Editing, so if your method works for you and you are getting your desired outcome, feel free to use what you are comfortable with.

Once you have your stock extracted and placed on your documents, you can begin scaling these to the desired size. Always be sure you are keeping things realistic. If you need to use google to find out how tall an 8-year-old child will be next to a lion, do it! Also, hold down your shift key while you are resizing the stock because you do not want your images to become stretched out and change dimensions. Once they are scaled, begin making individual adjustments to each piece for them to match in color tones, contrast lighting, etc.

The day we got together for their photos, they met me on Highway 99 in an area with a beautiful view overlooking Howe Sound. We wandered around in the woods for a while before finding a gorgeous vantage point. As the sun was going down, the reflection off the water made some amazing light and I was able to capture some great images of the Megan and Scott as they enjoyed the view.

The assaults on Tara were becoming increasingly violent and included rape, anal rape and the use of oversized sexual devices to violate the terrified child. In January 2008 the FBI took the unusual step of issuing an all-states bulletin to computer-crime investigators around the country, looking for help. Four months later, they went even further and released around a dozen still photos and video images with an urgent request for assistance.

On May 23, 2008, Dawn Ego, a computer forensic examiner with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit, began looking for clues. Ego scoured the FBI images. A sadistic bully and a coward, the man was always disguised, either by wearing a mask or by altering or blacking out his face. So Ego concentrated all her skills on the other things in each image, like the surroundings.

Then they turned their attention to the hotel room used in the Tara Series, and the bedspread which had quite a distinct pattern. They checked thousands of bedspread patterns and also began looking at the bed linen in the images from the house.

While Ego concentrated on the motel photos and footage, other investigators began checking the photos of the assaults that had been conducted inside a vehicle. They turned to car manufacturers for help, circulating innocuous versions of the car's interior. While this was in progress, Ego again reviewed the 1800 images, looking now at the awful video footage of the interior of the motel room. All the films in the Tara Series had titles, to enable the members of the pornography group to order them easily. This one was called 2007 Tara 8-y-o-gets [assaulted with a sexual device]-July 21, 2007.
